In reply to JeffreyCloutier's post on November 9, I forgot to tell you I have gone through 209 driver update exercise to no avail Try to return to a previous point. I have been there before to create a restore point when I felt it necessary and have found 3 or 4 restore point dates In updatr to JeffreyCloutier's post on November 10, The 4th was a security update and was not allowed to uninstall it.
After each uninstall I restarted and tried the audio but was not successful. Thanks again for your effort Ok I understand. This site in other languages x.

I cannot hear sound from my computer's speakers when running windows, although I can hear sound through a troubleshooter before windows loads. Also, I can hear sound through the headphone jack through the troubleshooter and when windows is loaded.
I was on with a Microsoft troubleshooter. He also said they were actively working this issue as it was a global issue. We went through all the normal steps like rolling back the audio driver.
I cannot roll back the 20H2 update as it's been too long. I have the same problem. The hardware isn't even detected by the system. I spoke to HP and the problem was resolved by uninstalling the update and updating the graphics driver.
HP stressed it was this rather than the audio driver. The pc isn't recognised by the HP assistant now either when trying to log on for driver updates. My issue took a total of 5 hours of tech support help and ultimately the issue was either a Midi driver that I could never locate, and a different port on the sound card that I had never used before.
Your issue sounds a little different, and I'm sure that Microsoft will bounce you back and forth between their help and HP's. I ended up calling Dell. Good luck. This is a touch one. Thanks David. Likewise, my original ticket to HP took approximately 5 hours to resolve! Haven't heard anything from them yet over this one but it is Bank Holiday weekend. FIngers crossed we can get this sorted.
Hi, I've been having the same issue. My short-term fix is to search for 'Reset this PC' and the go back to a previous build. Rolling back to the previous version of Windows worked for me as a temporary fix but I kept getting warnings that the version was about to expire.
A further hour with HP and their only solution was to do a complete factory reset - a bit drastic. I have since been in touch with my local PC guru who solved my problem in less than 30 mins!!
He found the BIOS was also out of date and having updated that the audio was back - hoorah!! May be worth having a look at. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.

Today, I start noticing that when I'm watching the Youtube content on the MS edge it's completely silent but if I use my wireless headset then sound comeback. After that, I go on surfing through the internet.
I've tried a lot of solutions that I get from surfing through the internet. For example, Realtek audio update driver after I do check for an update then come out that this is the lastest driver they have. Or even set the device, like set it to a default output device. Yes, It's working at the moment I open the laptop but after pass a few minutes It's starting to silent again I don't know why. I love the way windows are back from window 7 but now on windows I have a lot of driver problems on my laptop, especially this Lenovo yoga slim 7i carbon.

Here's the steps you can try. Use an old Audio driver installed. If issue persist, let's download and install the updated audio driver from the manufacturers website, what is the exact model number of your Lenovo 7i laptop for me to check the driver.

That method does help me. Maybe downgrade the driver should be my best option. Alright, I hope windows 10 still develop in this way Realtek too I guess.
